Dorrington Academy expect all children to be in the Academy’s uniform as listed below. As part of our RESPECT agenda we encourage high standards of appearance and this is checked on a daily basis.
Dorrington Academy Uniform Guidance
At Dorrington Academy, all children are expected to wear the correct uniform every day. As part of our RESPECT agenda, we promote high standards of appearance which are checked daily.
Uniform for all students
- White buttoned collared shirt (no polo t-shirts)
- School tie
- Royal blue V-neck jumper with the school logo
- Grey trousers
- Black school shoes (no trainers, heels or open-toe shoes)
Optional Girls wear:
- Royal blue cardigan with the school logo
- Grey skirt
Optional Summer Uniform (from April-July)
Boys may wear:
- Grey shorts
Girls may wear:
- Blue and white summer dress
General Uniform Expectations
- All clothing should be clearly marked with the pupil’s name and class
- Only stud earrings may be worn and must be removed at home for P.E. and swimming days to comply with Birmingham City Council Health and Safety Regulations
- Religious items of jewellery may be worn
P.E. Kit
- House-coloured P.E. t-shirt with the school logo
- Black jogging bottoms, shorts or leggings
- Royal blue V-neck jumper or cardigan with the school logo or optional P.E. house-coloured hoodie with the school logo
- Trainers (no studs or blades)
Please note wearing jewellery is not permitted, please remove at home on P.E. days.
House Colours:
- Emerald – Green
- Ruby – Red
- Sapphire – Blue
- Diamond – Yellow
Swimming Kit
On your child’s swimming day, they can wear their P.E. kit as listed above.
They will also need:
- A large towel
- Flip flops
- A suitable bag to hold wet items
- Optional swimming cap (recommended for long hair)
Boys:
- Swimming trunks or shorts
- Due to health and safety rules, shorts must be specifically designed for swimming (well above the knee and have no pockets)
Girls:
- A plain one-piece swimming costume
