More Able Pupils

At Dorrington, we aim to provide extra intervention to all pupils irrespective of their ability.

We recognise the importance of fulfilling the needs of the Gifted & Talented children. We have in-depth audits of children’s standards and progress. We produce a register of Gifted & Talented children from these audits and provide appropriate provision to meet their needs.

Dorrington has invested funding in recruiting specialist teachers in the core subjects to meet the needs of the Gifted & Talented. In addition we have developed partnerships with secondary schools to enhance the knowledge and understanding of teachers for the Gifted & Talented. Without doubt this investment in both time and money has had a positive impact on achievement in both Key Stages.
